Bakersfield Summer A/C Survival Guide

Summer in Bakersfield does not creep in. It arrives. By June you need an A/C system that does its job from the first crank.

Check the cabin air filter first. A clogged filter is the cheapest fix for weak airflow.

Listen for the compressor cycling. If it short cycles, the refrigerant charge may be low.

Inspect the belt for cracks. A slipping belt steals A/C performance.

Smell test the vents. A musty smell is mold in the evaporator. We can clean it.

Schedule a recharge if it has been more than two summers. Slow leaks are normal.
